As the primary team responsible for updating the content on Brown School websites, the Communications office would like to establish clear guidelines to streamline the process and ensure timely updates. Effective communication and adherence to these guidelines will help us maintain an up-to-date and user-friendly online presence. Please familiarize yourself with the following procedures when requesting updates for the Brown School websites:

  1. Submission of Content Update Requests:
    • All content update requests should be sent to the following email address: browncommunications@wustl.edu.
    • Please submit your requests at least 2 weeks prior to the desired posting deadline to allow sufficient time for processing.
  1. Request Acknowledgment:
    • Upon receipt of your content update request, the Communications team will acknowledge the receipt of the email.
    • We may follow up with you if there are any questions or concerns regarding your request.
  1. Avoid Individual CCs:
    • To ensure smooth communication flow, refrain from copying individual team members on request emails. All communication should be directed to the browncommunications@wustl.edu inbox.
  1. Escalation Procedure:
    • If a request is not acknowledged within 2-3 business days, you may escalate the matter to the Director of Communications, Jon Hinderliter at hinderliterj@wustl.edu
  1. Batch Updates:
    • To optimize efficiency, we encourage you to submit multiple updates as batch requests rather than individual ones.
  1. Required Information:
    • Each request should include the following information:
      • Deadline date for the update to be published.
      • Clear title for the update request.
      • URL of the specific page to be updated or specify if it is a request for a new page.
      • Detailed web page content or changes to be made.
      • Attach any necessary files or media to be included.
  1. Complex Requests:
    • If your update request requires additional turnaround time due to its complexity, please consult with the Director of Communications before submission.
  1. Same-Day Updates:
    • Requests for same-day updates will be reviewed for priority compared to the already queued tasks. Please understand that not all same-day requests can be accommodated based on the existing workload.
  1. Non-Content Specific Development
    • Brown School Information Technology Office handles development for school-specific applications, forms, and system integrations.
